G450 Technology

Here's a formula for success: Take a business jet with a true pedigree, a descendant of the famous Gulfstream GIV® series and equip it with the most advanced flight deck in business aviation. Now you have a Gulfstream G450® large-cabin, long-range business jet, an airplane that boasts virtually every major technological advance Gulfstream has made over the past two decades.

Upgraded with aerodynamic and system improvements and equipped with Rolls-Royce Tay Mk 611-8C engines, today's G450 offers business travelers a choice of domestic or transcontinental destinations.

With its state of the art display technology, standard cursor control devices, its open architecture and its Interactive Navigation (I-Nav) management system, the PlaneView® cockpit is the most advanced flight deck in business aviation today. Fourteen-inch liquid crystal display screens provide pilots with all the system status flight information they need in landscape format. All navigation and system displays are placed in familiar locations.

Gulfstream's Enhanced Vision System II™, a standard feature in the PlaneView cockpit, presents a clear picture of runway markings, taxiways, other aircraft and the surrounding landscape at night or in deteriorating weather conditions. The optional SV-PFD takes it one step further by displaying digitized real-time terrain information on the pilot's primary display. The net effect is to provide the flight crew with a level of situational awareness never before available.

It's very simple what's your time worth?

Every aspect of the all-new Gulfstream G450’s design and performance is dedicated to the fastest flight possible, while in the cabin, every detail is devoted to providing a uniquely personalized and completely comfortable interior. Gulfstream earned the best reputation in business aviation by consistently creating aircraft that meet travelers evolving aspirations. With the G450, Gulfstream strikes an optimal balance of speed, maneuverability, and comfort that helps passengers maximize every minute of their travel time.

Compared to the average maximum range for all Private aircraft, which is 1,000 nautical miles, the Gulfstream G450: Can fly 3,350 nautical miles farther (a 335% margin)

For Gulfstream, the older of the large-cabin aircraft, the G550 and the smaller, the shorter-range G450 seem to have found just the right balance for the Savannah manufacturer. Perhaps spurred on by the fact that, according to Gulfstream, some 40 different corporate flight departments across the US operate both the G450 and the G550.

You might say the Gulfstream G450® large-cabin, long-range business jet comes from good stock. It can trace its heritage back to the Gulfstream GIV®, the GIV-SP® and the G400®. The GIV series, introduced in 1986, set new standards in business aviation. It was the best-selling long-range, large-cabin business jet in the world. Longtime Gulfstream operators still speak fondly of that airplane and its succeeding generations.

Today's G450, introduced in 2003, is an entire upgrade of what was then an outstanding business jet. It can transport eight passengers and a crew of three up to 4,350 nautical miles (8,056 km) at a normal cruise speed of Mach 0.80. It can attain a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.88 and climb to an initial cruise altitude of 41,000 feet (12,497 m) in only 20 minutes. As the trip progresses, the G450 can easily step up to a maximum cruise altitude of 45,000 feet (13,716 m).

With its intercontinental range, the G450 spans oceans and continents. Think Dallas to Paris or Honolulu to Denver.

Each of its upgraded Rolls-Royce Tay Mk 611-8C engines produces 13,850 pounds (61.6 kN) of thrust. This thrust provides excellent takeoff performance with improved capability from demanding high elevation airports on hot days. Yet when you combine this unbridled power with aerodynamic and material improvements, the G450 displays flight and performance characteristics that provide greater fuel efficiency and lower operating costs than the previous GIV family of aircraft.
